East Brown Cow and its affiliates comprise a real estate investment, development and management company, established in the summer of 1989 by Tim Soley as a first-generation family business. Since that time, the portfolio has grown significantly and now includes over 20 assets in Maine’s greater Portland urban area, including over 1.2 million square feet of mixed-use office, retail, hospitality space and structured parking.

The company seeks to create meaningful connections to the surrounding urban fabric through high-quality design and a carefully-curated use of all assets, and is dedicated to providing first-class management services to tenants. Actively acquiring and redeveloping several high-profile properties in Portland's fast-changing downtown, EBC is grounded in a longstanding commitment to environmental stewardship, excellence in urban design, preservation and activation of open space and the exploration of new technology. Corporate offices are located at 100 Commercial Street.

EBC has earned a reputation for its commitment to the community through both volunteerism and philanthropy. Staff are encouraged to donate their time to area non-profits, and the company has regular group volunteer outings. EBC also makes significant philanthropic contributions, with a particular focus on Environment, Education and Economic Development.
